Where in Australia does DJ Freight operate?
DJ Freight is based in Brisbane, Queensland and operates Australia-wide. Some destinations we have previously delivered to or from include: Port Douglas, Cairns, Hinchinbrook, Townsville, Ayr, Bowen, Cannonvale, Airlie Beach and the Whitsundays, Mackay, Sarina, Rockhampton, Yeppoon, Bundaberg, Gladstone, Hervey Bay, Gympie, Sunshine Coast, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Coffs Harbour, Port Macquarie, Forster, Port Stephens, Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Sydney, Wollongong, Jervis Bay, Batemans Bay, Gippsland Lakes, Melbourne, Victor Harbour, Adelaide, Port Augusta, Whyalla, Port Lincoln, Perth, Fremantle, Bunbury, Geraldton, Port Hedland, Broome, Darwin, Katherine, Mount Isa and Karumba. How far in advance should I book my transport?
For smaller vessels (<6m), 2 weeks is usually enough time, although in some instances, we may be able to transport your vessel immediately. For larger vessels and for deliveries not on the east coast, 3-4 weeks may be required.
What is my quote based on?
Every quote is unique. The quote is primarily dependant on the size of the vessel or cargo, but other factors may alter the cost, such as oversize or escort requirements and exceptional loading considerations.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is included in my quote?
Our quotes only include transport from the pick up point to the final destination. Additional costs of loading, including forklift, travel lift or crane costs are NOT included in the quote and must be paid directly to the lifting company by the vessel owner. Rigging and vessel preparation, such as removing towers, biminy covers and other items is also NOT included in the quote and are the responsibility of the vessel owner.
What are the terms and methods of payment?
Full payment must be made prior to the completion of delivery. The only payment option available at the time of delivery is cash. We also accept bank deposit, EFT or bank cheque (no personal cheques), which must be received and cleared prior to final delivery. Therefore, bank and EFT deposits must be completed at least 24 hours and bank cheques at least 5 business days prior to delivery.
Where can my vessel be delivered to?
We are able to pick up and deliver your vessel anywhere that our trucks can enter, with access to a suitable means of loading or unloading your vessel, such as a forklift or crane. DJ Freight has access to numerous facilities across Australia where loading and unloading is possible and can assist you in choosing an appropriate location.
Does DJ Freight backload or top load?
No, we do not backload and we believe the transportation of marine vessels is too sensitive to topload.
